INDIANAPOLIS — A Chinese immigrant charged with killing her child by eating rat poison while she was pregnant has pleaded guilty to criminal recklessness in an Indianapolis court as part of a deal reached with prosecutors.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press that 36-year-old Bei Bei Shuai (bay bay shway) pleaded guilty Friday to the misdemeanor and was sentenced to time served, which was 178 days. Murder and feticide charges were dropped.
