WATERBORO, Maine — Authorities say a 61-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash in southern Maine.
The York County Sheriff's Office says a motorcycle ridden by 61-year-old Chester Smith of Lyman went off the road in Waterboro on Friday night and struck a tree. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office says he was the only one on the bike and wasn't wearing a helmet. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
