CONWAY, S.C. — A spokeswoman says one person has been wounded in a shooting at a school apartment complex near Coastal Carolina University, and a lockdown of campus buildings has been ordered.
School spokeswoman Martha Hunn said the gunman was still at large Tuesday night.
She said dispatchers received a call around 7:20 p.m. regarding a shooting at University Place, which is adjacent to S.C. Highway 544.
Hunn said the victim was transported to a local hospital.
According to the school's website, University Place houses almost 2,000 students.
